a couple unidentified things in my new tank

this came out of the live rock i bought, i assume its some kinda of eel, is it reef safe or shud i get it out

you can see the tank is just finished it diatom bloom,

everything finaly leveled off

Thing 1: No idea, maybe an anemone? Soft coral? Can you shoot another pic?
Thing 2: Snowflake moray (Echidna nebulosa). Wow! That wins for the coolest hitchhiker I have ever seen. Unfortunately, it will eat small invertebrates, so it's not reef safe. Well, it won't eat corals, but you won't be able to have much of a cleanup crew. Wow.

i just put some mysis shrimp in the tank. that snowflake just pigged out, he went through the cycle, its the first time i see him, i got live rock from 3 differnt sources, i dont know where it came from

i bought 140 lbs total a couple pieces were between 10-15 lbs each, big als had them for 2 months in the tank nd aqurium enthusiat had them almost three months, i purchased 70 lbs from a private sale who had in rthere tank for 3 years now, but none of them seen the moray, i was surprised to see him when the lights came on.

my tank specs

6' 125 gal
diy light strip 3 x 150 hqi metal halide, with 3 x 250 watt spare hqi bulbs
2 x 96 watt vho attinc
1 300 watt heater
2 x fluval 404
1 pwr head 300 gph
140 lbs live rock
160 lbs of live aroginte sand

That IS incredibly awesome for a hitch-hiker. I don't think I'd want one in my tank (too small) but if I had enough room I might keep it. Not too often I imagine you'd get one in your LR, and makes for a cool story.

All my rock seems to have come with so far is algea. :rolleyes:
 
i think i am going to keep him, althou i cant find him right now again, he sure hides away good, my diy light hood fits perfectly on the top with good fillers between my hoses on the back, does any one know what that is growing on the rock, thanks
