I have a 55gal community tank with assorted livebearers, plants, shrimp, frogs, etc.

I keep three male fancy guppies and several females, but for some reason the females keep dying, at the rate of one every couple of days, and I keep replacing them.

This has happened four or five times now.

The females all look healthy right up to the point that I find them dead, and all the other fish appear healthy, with no other deaths.

The males don't seem to be harrassing the females at all, in fact they ignore them and spend most of their time chasing the mollies and platies.

There are five danios in the tank, but I've never seen them bothering the gupppies.

My tank is right by my pc in my tv room, and we watch it constantly and don't see anything unusual happening.

What could be causing this?

That is strange. I can offer you some advice though, if you wish to breed the females and make life a bit easier for them, and about 2 females for every male.

Ken,
When was the last time you had your water checked? I would do a water test and see what the parameters are. Also, when was the last time you did a water change? Guppies do like good clean water. So weekly water changes should be done on a regular basis.
I would check the water quality first and see how that is. Guppies are pretty hardy fish and something is not right with your water.
