Ok guys. I had to share!:)

I looked at my lotus a few minutes ago and what to my wondering (or is it wAndering? hmm) eyes did appear....but a cute lotus blossom bud!

I'm psyched! It's going to be SO pretty!:D I'm working on figuring out why my stupid camera is working, but I should be able to snap a picture of the bud at some point today. Then, in a day or two I should have a great picture of a red lotus blossom:D

Just had to get out some of my excitement;)

Without one minor quibble - the aquatic plant kept in tanks as "lotus" is a water lily, not a lotus. They are still nice plants and the flowers are quite uncommon in tanks, so...Congratulations!!!!

yes, sorry. I'll specify...nymphaea zenkeri

Either way, im just happy because last week my sword flowered (and still is)

Ok, got a quick snapshot of the bud:D

Leopardess you continue to inspire us all. Your tanks are a part of the reason I'm trying it for myself.

Thank you vicious, seriously:) I dont think they're that great (yet) but I'm glad they please someone!

Danger, yah, I'm giving it another two days to full bloom:D Its about 3" from the surface - but it grows at night, so it might be quicker than that:)

I NEED to get my camera sorted out before that. I THINK i may have found the culprit as to why it wasn't working;) I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with the fact that I looked down yesterday and saw that its AC adapter had, well, melted;)

Oh, maybe sooner:D It's only half an inch beneath the surface now:)

Sweet! Congrats and get lots of photos, can't wait to see pix. :)

Is this the first one you've had? I ask this because I saw one on Monday, and employee of a LFS grabbed me and pointed it out. It got a bit crispy in the day before he moved it, due to it's proximity to the lights. They have another one coming up as well.
