Anemone shrinking tentacle

I have had my anemone for about a month now and noticed from time to time that the tentacles shrivel up at different sections and times throughout the day. They also change color from pink to a dark purple. After a few minutes the tentacles return to a normal. Chemistry, tempurature, and salinity are all normal in a 26 gallon tank. I think it is a Stichodachtyla Gigantea (Giant Carpet Anemone) Just wondering if this is normal?

It is not unusual for an anenome to exhibit this behavior throughout the day. Does it appear to be curling that section in towards its mouth when shrinking up?

Yes, he seems to be curling up. I was under the impression when they curl up they are stressed. Is this true?
