My platies are constantly at the surface of my tank where the bubbles where my sand waterfall castle & UGF tubes are. Today I turned off my UGF after running my AC 200 for about a week.
Hopefully after a few days they'll stop trying to eat the bubbles :). Is this normal? The other fishes' behavior are normal (minus the Ich problem).

It is fairly normal...I mean, unless they are hanging at the surface of the water ALL day, then they are fine. Sometimes fish can be deprived of oxygen so they go to the surface but with bubble makers, its often times because they like swimming in it. ;)

I think it's normal. My platies are usually at the top too. They almost seem like they are eating the bubbles. To be honest, I think the platies are just very simple minded. I have a bubble curtain in the back of my tank and they are constanly swimming through the bubbles. I think it looks like a lot of fun. LOL!
My platies spend an awfully large portion of the day swimming beneath the feeding ring. I would go with the assesment that they are slightly simple minded fish. But funny to watch anyway.
