How often do you feed your cichlids?

I feed mine twice a day, but today I noticed a swimming worm and after I searched the message boards I found that the worm was do too overfeeding.So how often do you feed your cichlids?

I feed once per day on most tanks except the baby tank, 210 gallon(hungry hungry midas!) & one of my 20's (greedy little purple striped gudgeons in there!).

I feed a once once per day on most of my tanks except fry tanks.Sometimes i also skip a day every now and then.

DOnt 'know what the worms are, i've never had them from over feeding. They were probably introduced to your trank somehow and have started multiplying due to the over feeding(sort of like snail populations)

Most people feed too much. Most fish can go weeks without eating. Feeding once a day should be fine IMO

I'd say about 5 times a week. Minimal food, once a day. Cichlids are prone to overeating and can grow obese easily so you shouldn't feed them very much. Just enough so they stay healthy and active,... and with all the vitamins and minerals packed into flake foods nowadays it isnt hard to do.


and if you feed live foods definately wait a day before feeding again

One minute a day, either once or 30 seconds twice a day. skipping once a week. Never had a problrm wiht them. fries get fed 3-4 day. :)

2x day, once in the morning & again at night; i also fast them once a week
