Sorry for the repetitiveness on lighting lately, but I am not satisfied yet. Currently I have a 55 gl tank with two 32 watt t-8 lamps. I am thinking about converting my hood to two 110 watt t-12 lamps. The 32 watt lamps are 10,000 K and I am thinking about for the 110 watt lamps around 8000 K. Tank is fairly heavy in plants and definetly over stocked with fish (I got carried away with the fish). Anyway is two 110watt lamps going to be too much for the plants and fish? I also have c02 going in the tank.

That is going to be a ton of light. You will probably have algae problems and fertilizing issues for a while if you add that much light. That's 4 watts per gallon of power compact light! Very bright.

If I were you, I would aim for somewhere in the 2-3 watt per gallon range.
