How long should I let my new water stand?

I've mixed my salt water and am going to do a water change soon. How long should I let it sit? I usually wait about 5 days. Is that OK?

I always wait at least 24 hours, but it's usually more like 3 days. Five days and you're definitely good to go. Just make sure to check the temp, SG and pH prior to the water change.

I'd keep a powerhead or airstone going in it to keep the water circulating.
