bubbles in tank

I jut set up a new 75 gallon S American cichlid tank 2 days ago and there is so many tiny tiny bubbles in the tank that it makes it look cloudy. I am using a new Filstar XP2 with the spray bar output. it almost looks like the bubbbles are coming from the output, would this mean there is air in the lines or is this just normal?
 
I'm not familiar with the Filstar, but in case anyone else has the same problem w/tiny bubbles it might be something simple, like mine were! I recently, all of a sudden, had an outbreak of tiny bubbles and yes, they can make the water look really "dirty." After a few days I realized that I had moved my bubble plate and now the rising bubbles were hitting the underside of the powerhead, collecting there and releasing millions of off-spring! When I moved the plate the bubbles disappeared! A nice, simple solution. Hopefully your solution will be simple, also.
 
I've been battling the same problem with my Penguin bio wheel. I emailed Marineland and they told me it's cause my tank isn't cylced, and the bubbles are actually a bacteria outbreak :rolleyes: I've had it stocked for 5 months. :rolleyes:

I don't have an air stone or anything... it's weird. I've been doing 50% water changes twice a week to try and combat it. Some people told me it's gas bubbles and they will go away on their own... but I've had them for almost 2 months. Fortunately, they are slowly starting to go away.
 
NO it isn't normal. The XP's will expel air that is in the filter. The air must be getting in somehow (hose ends not sealed, elbow loose, etc..). When cleaning the filter, or emptying it for whatever reason, it may take a while for the filter to purge all the air out.

I actually received a response within a few hours from Rena's website and they said it was from the airated water from the fawcet. They said it shouild go away pretty quickly, so I went home and yep, no more bubbles!. Thanks for the help.
 
Hehe, all that and finally an easy answer. From my experience many times bubbles in a new tank seem to spew from whatever filter type I'm using for the first day or two. Mostly just annoying really.
