I have a 55g and a 20g my question is will a black Convict and a RD go to gether I have to wait a while before the Convicts get bigger but will they go togehter
No.
RD needs 75g tank when fully grown.
Also, any convict is housed with RD is because convict is treated as "Target" fish.
My 55 housed a jd and convict for over a 1 and half years. The convict got beat up but he could hold his own.
Then about a month ago I was at the lfs and saw this great looking 6 inch Rd. I had to have him. The convict got beat up pretty bad. So he now lives in my buddys 55 by himself, wounds healing.
Now the jd and and rd get along pretty good. Actually there is no fighting at all. Except when its worm time. This rd is a pig, always acts likes he is hungry. Way cool fish. Oh yea they will be in a 135 soon. Good luck Tim
I hope you don't plan that 55g tank as perm tank for both cichlids.
Jeez dude what was the last line of my post? Thats why the 135 is in the works,and conviced my wife that this was needed. She likes the rd. I like my jd. So with size tank there will some peace. Tim
