I have these almost microscopic, teeny white bugs that I can see all huddled together on the glass of my tank. They are really small, you can hardly notice them, and they are white. They move around pretty quickly and seem to almost jump around on the glass. Anybody know what these are? and are the a threat to my tank?? I would put a picture, but they are too small to even show up in the pic. Thanks.

they are probably copepods i'd say little crustaceans that will form the basis of your food chain if you have a reef.

most any wild caught and a lot of captive bread fish perfer the copes. They are their natural food after all. I really wouldn't be surprised that it would perfer them. It would help though if we know a bit more? How long have you had it a lot of times a new fish will go off feed. What are your water parameters they tend to be a little touchy with poor water quality. Not as bad as a lot of the other marine fish and inverts but, something to keep in mind.

i had the oscellaris for 1.5 months now, he helped cycled my tank. just yesterday i had the water tested for the basic amonia, nitrate, nitrite but not ph or phos. i think you are right, i started the tank out with tap water and now i can see the water is getting a little green- more algea are on the rocks now. i need a RO unit bad!
