It is gross. But I have been wondering about it since I got back into fish keeping a while ago [1 1/2 months, or more].

There is a thin, sometimes thick, layer of mushy clear fungus or algae that covers the sides of my glass tank and the inside of the filter.

I have a feeling that it is due to over-feeding, but not that sure.

I have done TWO major water changes over the pass couple weeks, and always the stuff comes back.

Help????

pH: 7.0
ammonia: 0.5-1.0
nitrite: 0.5-1.0
Fish: five Bettas [2 males, 3 females]
Tank: 10 gallon
Temperature: 80-82 degrees
Food: bloodworms, Betta bites [2 to 3 times a day]

I don't know if this is what's causing it, but I think your ammonia and nitrites are too high.

Didn't you already post this in the other section? I think I've already answered this question....
