Hello,
My husband inherited two fish we believe are cichlids. I have looked at tons of cichlids online in the past two days but was not able to find a picture of the two we have. We don't know where they were bought, how old they are and they were living in a little 10 gallon tank when we got them. They are greenish brown with a bright orange dot on the the tail and some orange on the later half of their bodies. Does anybody have any idea what kind of cichlids they are? I just want to make sure we are keeping them correctly. We bought a new 30 gallon tank with new filter, heater, large gravel etc... We are feeding cichlid food and they seem to be doing well.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Size? Shape? Anything else you could say about them? Pictures? There are a LOT of cichlids...

Remember there are 1300+ diverse species of cichlids!
If the size is > 8 then it may be an oscar (Astronotus ocelatis). If your's is an oscar it should resemble the fish below.
