I was wondering what everyone's opinion on snails was? I know they are useful in the community and peaceful but every time I've had them I've ended up overrun with tiny little snails EVERYWHERE!
Good? Bad? Worth the trouble? Not any trouble? Good with plants? Bad with plants?

I wish I had some in my tank. I'm sure my loaches would LOVE them as a snack!!!!

I consider common pond snails and ramshorns (not Colombian Ramshorns (they are Apple snails with a flat spiral and eat plants) and MTS beneficial. Many Apple snails are risks with plants.
PS: If you have too many snails, you are overfeeding. Control the food, control the snails.

I have been very fortunate with having just one Apple Snail in one of my tanks for close to a year now. I don't have live plants, so that helps cut down the possibility of tag-alongs.:)

We have a few snails introduced from plant purchases and I think there great. We enjoy them and do they grow fast!
