i was just wondering if it is really harmfull to touch your fish. anytime im messing with my tank, both of my clowns are right there to investigate. they will come to the top and let me "pet" them anytime that i feed them. i think its kinda neat but i dont want to continue to do it if its harmful to my fish.

It is much safer to handle your fish than it is to net them- the nets disturb their slime coat while your hands do not.

I regularly handle my Goldfish, but would advise against it in a marine tank. First of all with all the nasty infections (vibrio, Mycobacterium marinum) you can pick up you shouldn't be in there barehanded anyway. And many marine fish varieties have spines or other venomous features damaging to human flesh.
