Yellow tang with black spots

Hello, I just noticed on my new yellow tang a lot of very fine black spots, looking almost like dust. Any ideas as to whether this is a bad thing, or just part of its coloration? Thanks, Harold

Sounds like a disease called "velvet". Check one of the websites that has a library on marine fish diseases. In the meantime make sure your water parameters are excellent and that his diet includes plenty of "greens."
