I just noticed my bumbe bee cichlid was darker like a black haze , his yellow stripes were bright yellow but now they are like hazing over with black is this a sickness or normal , i do weekly water changes and noticed it today while i was changing the water and cleaning. He is acting normal and eating fine, just wanna know if it is bad so i can quarintine him from my other cichlids if it is!! here is a pic
thanks in advance

If I'm not mistaken, that is Melanochromis auratus. The males of this species will darken to almost completely black/dark blue when they're ready to breed.

I'm not saying that there's not a potential problem, because in the picture the fish is skulking by the filter intake. But, a color change alone is not necessarilly indicative of ailment.

hmm maybe i should do my homework!! well the only reason he is by the filter is cause that is just when i snapped the pic he doesn't hang out there he swims all over the tank as all my cichlids do

but thanks for the help

yeah, the M. auratus is often called "Golden".

The males turn black with yellow stripes. Have a look:
