I think that there should be a sticky in this forum that lists everything a person will need to get their tank started.
When I first started fish keeping I got a starter kit at a store and thought it had everything I needed. A year later I found this site and this was the first I heard about watering testing. I had no idea that there was ammonias and nitrites and that ph and clacium and all that mattered. I didn't know that test kits exsisted. I'm still confused about the things I need even after doing this for over a year. This seems to be somewhat of an elitest hobby and there is very little information about getting started out there. Sure, people know they need a filter, but I became totally lost when it came to what kind of filter.
Anyway, just a suggestion, and even if it doesn't become a sticky why don't some of you more experianced fish people make a few lists for the average beginner.
Thanks
