I haven't noticed a change in any of my water parameters....even after killing 50 or more majanos at a time.

oh, cause my nitrates were around 20 ppm, and i did a water change less than a week ago. its a 75 gallon with a yellow tang, a serpent star, pepermint shrimp, a featherduster, and a fire goby. could the increase in nitrates be because of my lack or a cleaning crew?>

thanx

Well serpant stars and peppermint shrimp are part of your cleaning crew. I would however add to it especially if you only have 1 shrimp. It would also greatly add to the health and activity level of your tank. Should help solve a lot of your nitrate problems if the foods you add to the tank are eaten before they have a chance to rot.

Caz,
You can go with any other type of hermit crabs you like. I keep a mixture of what is out there.
As for snails, well, the turbo snails are fantastic cleaners, but they will bulldoze your tank and knock things over if they are to big. I have to pick corals up every day from my large snails.
As for other cleaners, my favorite is the spagetti worm. I just recently did an order from IPSF.com that does sell in cleaners. I like their assortmant of snails.
