I'm just curious to learn what types of conditioners everyone uses in their fish tanks. I have read a lot about the chlorine/chloramine conditioners but what other conditioners do you use for your tanks and why?

The "chlorine/chloramine conditioners" are what most use conditioners for. After all, those are the major problems for fish that tap water has in it. You could find 15+ different well-known conditioners out on the market today. Any number of them would work fine, for most situations.

Yes, I know there are a lot of things on the market but is it really safe to put all this stuff in their water???

I will be moving in about three months and we will have well water. Is is not still a good idea to put the stress coat conditioner into the water?

Hmmm...well see, that puts things into perspective. For now, I'd say no you dont need conditioner but I would test your water once you move into the new place just to be safe. Then let us know what you find and we can verify whether or not you should use a water conditioner. ;)

Tell me, do you know if this new place will have a water softener? Often times these can cause problems with other aspects to your water parameters.

Hi Aquariumfishguy, the place I am moving to is actually my parents home. We are building an addition onto their home.

It is well water and I have had a water test done on the water. We will definitely be having a water softener.
