I Was hoping to put a Yellow Tang, Flame Angel, 2 clarkii's and a Royal Gramma in a 142 gallon tank. How does that sound? I have 70 pounds of live rock and another 40 pounds of lace rock with lots of hiding places for the gramma. Would there be room for more fish, not sure what? I have a wet/dry filter, sump, skimmer, and a fluval.

That sounds good to me with that size you could go ahead and move your clarki's when ready.
I wouldn't add much more in the way of fish but Im more of a coral person. But a few Pajama Cardinals are always fun they arnt too high of bio load and just really hang out most of the time.

At this point we only have LR and corals beacuse of the lighting were out of the question at this time. We spent all our money on the tank and setup so at this point it will be fish. Honestly our 2 year old loves the movement and color so fish it is for now.

In that case there are quite a few smaller fish that would work great look at some neon cleaner gobies they are always nice IMO

In a 142 you could add a couple more if you pick right. The tang and flame angel can get a little bossy, just like the clowns. So I would get fish that can handle that.
The Orchid Dottyback ( Pseudochromis fridmani), the Yellow tail blue Damsel ( (Chrysiptera parasema) , Or a Flame Hawkfish ((Neocirrhites armatus). all would work.

If kept well fed they tend to leave them alone. If underfed they will try to catch and eat them. I keep flame hawkfish in tanks with the Coral Banded Shrimp(CBS) all the time. I fed my tanks 3-4 times a day.

From reading this and your other thread I'd say that you might want to wait on adding the clowns and more agressive fishes untill last. More timid fish will really appreciate the extra time to establish territories and hiding places. It also will help make sure that they get enough to eat a lot of times if you add an aggresive fish it will have your other guys cowering in a corner of the tank. They really won't do as well as they could under more idea circumstances. Just IME and other prople may have had better luck than I have.
