change the tube......and fish freak out

my fluorescent light has broken yesterday, so i went out there and get this aqua glo light to replace it. but as soon as i turn on the new light the fish freak out and go into hiding, i wonder is this normal for fish to stress out by a new light? ps the two fluorescent light is different, the old one come with the hood, the new one is aqua glo.

Most likely there's a difference in how bright the new light is compared to the old one. This change will startle the fish for a while, but they will get used to. Give them a few days to adapt.
