Does anyone know how to start your own black, or blood worm farm, culture, whatever it is called. I have seen the microworm cultures for sale, but that is it. Any suggestions

I agree w/ telecubby. I buy quite a bit of blackworms from one LFS that buys bulk and the cost is low, but sometimes they're "spoiled". Earthworms chopped and rinsed are less likely to carry aquatic diseases (IMO).

Bloodworms are also Midge larvae, next to impossible to culture them indoors.

Blackworms its easier to just buy them but they pose the risk of carrying many water born freshwater diseases, as well as bloodworms.

Red Wigglers however, usually are a good source of protein, but don't be just pullin them up out of your yard or else where, they can easily digest and harbor pesticides and herbicides. Get a good starter culture from a worm farm.
