are these guys hard to keep? and would a gold strip maroon clown host in one of these?

i assume you're talking about a condy anemone?
Condy anemones don't really form relationships with fish like the others do. If you have a maroon clown, you might go for a bubble tip anemone.

Also if you have lots of inverst or slow moving fish you might want to reconsider as well. Condy's are great critters don't get me wrong but, they like to wander around the tank. Stinging anything that can't get out of their way. They will eat slow moving unaware fish as well . My $5 Condy increased it's value to about $100 before I got smart and removed ir from my reef tank.

I've had a different experience with the Condy. It has stayed put with it's foot in the sand. It host Clarkii clowns in a couple of tanks.

Yes and no. As anemones go they are the easiest; But that is still not easy. A mature tank with the right conditions will go a long way towards success in keeping them.

I am still learning how to take digital pictures and work with them. That is a tank I have not gotten around to doing yet.
