It's driving me nuts.. there's a little bit of sand stuck in the bottom, and all the tubes are covered with algae, which all became rock hard thru time... (the slkimmer isn't up .. Hasn't been for a while).. How can I clkean the thing, if I can't open it up ? ? ?

When I took my 20g down, I placed my skimmer in a 5g bucket with regular tap water and about a gallon of vinegar. Let sit overnight, then used a sos scrubber on it the next day. Cleaned it like a charm. Almost as good as new. The skimmer was running for well over a yr. without major cleaning.
