does anyone practice some type of fish discipline? I have heard stores of people using a "time out net" to put a fish when it is being aggressive.. i laughed at first, very hard.. but i guess it MIGHt work..

Now I kinda wish we had a PG-13 forum where I could give this post the reply it so desperately needs
To take the reply absolutely at face value, I did know one guy who claimed to put aspirin in the tank when his fish got too riled up. He was -- eccentric --- in many other ways though.
While a "time out" net might break one specific incident of aggression, I just don't think fish in general, even oscars, are smart enough to overcome aggressiveness through learned response.

I've actually used the net time out. It can be quite effective.
Well at least it kept me from wanting to thwap the male saulosi against the cupboard for beating up his carefully hand selected new girlfriends!

why on earth would this thread get locked????? its not vulgar, there are no pictures of... its a valid topic, many people beat their oscars when they are being agressive with the net, or sometimes at our store an employee will just punch them, not me tho!
