I've been cruising around ebay and other online places like aqauriumplants.com looking at lighting ideas. I'm looking to get some serious lighting for my tank. I saw this add (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2392789196&category=46314) in ebay for 6065 bulbs using "FluoreX™ Technology". I was curious if anyone out there has used these bulbs. My upbringing has made me highly skeptical of anything that sounds like too good of a deal. I was hoping someone could put me at ease or warn me about these.

I don't know much about the technology because I have never seen this product before. However, it says the bulb uses 65 watts of electricity. This to me says the bulb is not 500 watts, rather 65. It's probably referring to 500 watts of incadenscent light, like those little compact bulbs say 75 watts of comparable light, when they are really only about 15 watts. I wouldn't recommend getting this product.

There are some very reasonable power compact fluorescents for sale on ebay though. Keep searching and I'm sure you will find something good.
