adding live rock and sand

I have a 29 gallon with eclipse hood. After getting bad advice from lfs to start, things have leveled off. I only have 3lb of live rock, a crushed coral substrate, a false perc clown and a yellow tail damsel.

I would like to replace the coral with sand, is that going to be a nightmare? I would also like to add much more live rock. If it is cured from a local lfs, do I still need to recure at home or can I just add it?
 
Changing the substrate shouldn't be to bad there are a few threads on this I think one is a sticky.

If the rock is already cured unless you are going to have it out of water for a large amount of time you should be ok to just go ahead and add it with little die off.
 
While your in the mood to change things, you should consider changing your damnsel in for something a little more compatible for your false perc. IMO damnsels are the terror of the tank. This is from first hand experience. Not only me but many aquarists. I know they only do what comes naturally but they will terrorize your tankmates. They think they own the tank and will only harass any fish to their death. It is up to you of course, but I will never own another damnsel.
