Clown Loaches Missing!

Yesterday afternoon I didnt see my loaches swimming around, I figured they were in their favorite hiding spot so I didnt think twice about it. Same thing last night when I got home. But this morning I woke up to find they werent swimming around as they usually do in the morning. So I got up and lifted up the rock to their favorite hiding place, nothing. I lifted up the next rock, nothing. Finally I lifted the fake rock formation and nothing. There is NO WHERE else they could be. I have a lid, and the water sits about four inches below the lid, so they couldnt have jumped out. My filter has a blocker so they couldn't have been sucked up. I dont know where they are! The only things I can think of is that they are either 1)buried or 2)hiding inside the cavernous fake rock formation.

Anyone ever lost a clown loach?
 
On another forum I use, someone posted an obituary for their four clown loaches that they had had for months and months. The day after, they saw one swimming around...then the next day, yet another was found. Eventually all of them were found alive and well. Clown loaches should be called houdini loaches, I swear. They are probably in the smallest nook or cranny in your tank - one that you can't imagine them fitting into;) Might be in that cavernous thing.

Don't despair just yet - my guess is that they've decided to hide somewhere.
