Have something like this under their belt?

A snail, or conch too large to properly move itself on the substrate?

I have a conch about....--------------------------------------------------...this big. And it seems to barely be able to move on the substrate, most often falling to a side. As if the sand/crushed coral is too unstable to support him lifting and propelling her girth.

I have a smaller one about...--------------------------...this big.

It gets about fine. Sometimes I notice it using a hop/jump technique, usually on the crushed coral. But it gets around.

I have a Mexican turbo that's bigger than a golf ball hasn't had any trouble getting around I do have some other snails (forget name) that I always have to up right. Maybe your big guy just has a balance problem.:D

Wasn't it sick or hurt when you got it Mak? It may have a hurt foot and it will either heal or well... I don't know of anything you could do for it either sorry. I just hope it heals in time just try to put its food where he can get to it and hope for the best.
good luck

I bought it from Petco

A conch being sold as a "hermit crab". It was upside down at the store, not looking good, but I like conch's so I snatched it.

The first week it would barely peek from it's shell, and would clam up at the sight of movement.

Now, weeks later it comes out boldly and eats, and moves location a few centimeters to inches. Usually he ends up on his side, and manages to extend his trunk to eat from the sandbed.

We'll see, hopefully the healing continues and he'll be going around the tank soon.

Well, maybe things are looking better, then. Only thing I can say is that snails seem to lose their posture when they don't feel good.

There seem to be a lot of books about fish diseases, but not much about inverts.

I removed most of the loose gravel and coral, and this morning the conch moved a whole 6 inches in location...and now is stuck on it's side.
