Ghost Shrimp

I can only tell you a bit about them. First, it's very obvious when the female has eggs. They're in the back part of her body, and she fans them constantly with her flipperettes. They hatch and stay there for a while - I'd say at least 3 days or so, at which time she either releases them or they swim off on their own. After that, I've never been able to raise them, even when I kept them separated in a baby net breeder. I don't know what the babies eat (or CAN eat), and for whatever reason, they all just disappeared one day, possibly other fish ate them, or sucked them through the net. They *ARE* fish food to most fish big enough to take a bite out of them.

Some other folks on this forum have discussed their experiences, you can wait for one to chime in on this thread, or you can check out the archives. I'd start out with the "catfish and bottom feeders" forum.

Good luck to you!
