I have a 55 gallon tank that has been set up for a year with community fish. I gave them all away except for my ~7 inch pleco. I am already trying to gradually increase my pH. Would it be good to replace the gravel with sand? If so what kind of sand do i use? lastly, anyone have trouble with plecos and africans and plecos with sand?

most water comming from the tap in northamerica is slightly higher than a ph of 7, I wouldn't worry about rasing the ph.
