any idea of what this is....

What exatly i the orange and the purple on this rock? any ideas? any help?

I have a pic....but it's too large..how can i make it smaller?

The photo is 80X60 pixels right now, and very hard to see. Can you take the original (the too big one), scale it down to about 550X500? What program are you using?

It looks like coralline algae and encrusting sponges.
 
ok.....i make it a little bigger, but it won't show up that size!!!!....i was using nikon editor. what other prog should i use?

WHY are my polyps not out in bloom? they haven't been out in weeks since i got them. sometimes i get about 5 buds on there....HEEEEELP

Well, the new image is much better. The orange stuff definitely looks like encrusting sponge. Is the purple stuff coralline algae? Hard to tell.

Lots of reasons polyps don't extend. Too much current, too little current. CHemistry not quite right. What are the parameters right now?

You might try moving it to a different place in the tank, and keeping an eye on it.
 
the purple is probably coraline algae...it certainly looks like it...it's a very dark purple. I moved the start polyp higher in the tank. How much current and wattage from the lights should be on that orange spone (which if you have any new info on wold be terrific) and what sort of current is reccomended? Thanks fellow fish folk!
