I have been trying to feed the cories in my 55gal community tank by dropping in sinking pellets after I turn out all the lights at night.

Is this an ok way to feed?

Not to much flake food makes it to the bottom in my regular daily feedings.

That is the perfect way to do it. My cories are in a tank with white clouds so I just drop their sinking pellets at the same time, but night is fine as the cories are still quite active then and don't really rely on sight to find food.

Are you're pellets a complete one or just a shrimp pellet. I like to have both to make sure they get a variety. I generally add 1 pellet per 2 cories.

In the years that I have kept corydoras I have never been able to get ANY of them to eat pellets. They might briefly (I do mean briefly!) pick over a pellet but then leave it to rot. I have tried several brands with different foods too.

My cories just like the flakes. I push some down to the bottom of the tank while the top eaters eat their share. Sure one or two (or four) flakes might not make it to the bottom but when they do, the cories pig out!

That's funny. Mine love the Wardley Shrimp Pellets and the Complete tablets from Tetra. They tend to nibble at it move on and then come back and this goes on until the food is gone. They even eat algae tabs on occasion. I guess some cories are more picky than others.

Same here sort of. I alternate giving algae wafers and Hikari sinking wafers. I feed them durring daylight hours because its the only time I'm able to count 8 peppered corys in my tank. Otherwise its a pretty futile exercise.
