I have a 20 gallon setup, and I love to use live plants.

Do you remove the little metal band before you put the plants in your tank? (The one the store has them clamped in)

I've had a few plants break loose from the metal band and loose their roots. Should I put them back int he gravel bed, or let them float until new roots develop?

And how would you lay them back in so they don't come out again?

Thanks,

H.

What kind of plants are they. Stem plants usually don't come with roots, that's why I'm asking.
Tell us the types and someone will help you plant them.

OOPS! Sorry about the names.

I have some Frill, Wisteria, and some purple type (cant remember the name)
These are all root plants.

I also have the tube type that grows like they are on crack, but I got them as a bulb.

Thanks,

H.

Remove the band and plant each stem individually.

If they continue to break off and float away, it may be that the light isn't bright enough. They are trying to find a new home downstream somewhere, a better place, a brighter place.
