Hi ! I'm Alvin from Manila, Philippines. Just want to say this is a great site with a lot of info. I'm a SW newbie and I've learned a lot just by reading the posts.

By the way, I have 4 FW tanks and I recently emptied one of my 50g tank to convert it to SW.

mogurnda -- no definite plans yet on the 50. i had it completely cleaned up just last night. i work 8-5 mon-sat, so you see i haven't got the time yet.

i heard keeping a reef tank poses some challenges but i really would like to start with a fish only with live rock SW aquarium.i 've seen some latticed butterfly fish and moorish idols. i kind of like them.

but still i know i have to start from scratch.

i'll keep you guys posted on my developments.

hey man not sure about the butterfly but the moorish idols are very, very, hard to keep alive . They are nearly imposible to feed.

I would like to third the Great Site comment...

You guys are an invaluable source of good information/advice and without you, us newbie's would be doomed to look at pictures of the aquarium we could only hope to have.

maxilaria, thanks for the warning. i haven't done any research on moorish idols. i just thought they were great additions to anyone's SW tank. guess i have to find another suitable companion for my butterfly.
