Will Yellow Tangs or Flame Angels eat hair algae? A little bit came on a small piece of LR i got today, I thought I would leave it there as it might be another source of food for the grazers. Any ideas?

Hit or miss, IME. My bicolor won't touch the stuff, and some tangs will, some won't. I'd probably clean it off, because it's not a desirable addition and can take over if conditions are right, even if a few fish will eat it.

Thanks for the reply and I will take your advice as I have seen the yellow tang nibble a bit but barely put a dent in it. I must admit it kinda looks cool flowing in the current. Thanks again guys.

if i could keep it under control, i wouldnt hate it so much hehe. of course i dont have much of a clean up crew. you could always try a lawnmower blenny though. i hear they eat the stuff pretty good. maybe he could keep it in check so you could keep it in your tank

Thanks for the idea Caz. Its always fun to add a fish to the mix, in fact I have a $70 credit at my LFS as I put a Naso Tang on hold and now understand that the fish just gets to big.

np, i hope it helps :) i know once i can get my fish disease free, i might get a lawnmower blenny.
