I have two goldfish in a tank in the house, for a few years now. I just put in a pond and was wondering if I can put them outside now in the pond?

I'm not a goldfish expert, but I've had goldfish around since high school. I'd be a little concerned about the fishies. Are they fancy goldfish or comets? I'd also worry about cats who might live nearby. The fantail goldfish might have more trouble getting away from predators. My aunt went to the pet store and bought a dozen feeder goldfish for her pond. That worked ok, but most of the fish were eaten by her neighbor's cats (the woman next door was one of those cat ladies, I never saw fewer than 50 cats in her yard at a time). There were still a few 10 cent fish at the end of the summer!
