I'm looking at getting some inverts online (specifically cleaners, ie. snails, crabs, stars, shrimp).

Everything I've bought so far has been at the LFS.

Am I exposing my tank to a greater risk by going online? Especially with a large quantity of various animals.

The prices are definately better online but at least at the LFS I can evaluate the health of an animal prior to putting it in my tank.

Frankly, I trust the quality of livestock from places like Premium Aquatics and Inland Aquatics more than the LFSs around here. Plus, they have much more variety. Almost all of my snails, shrimp and other detritivores were bought online, and I have been very happy.

The downside for me is the cost of shipping, and having to arrange my schedule to receive them.
