I purchased about 20 lbs of live rock from LFS. I had previously obtained some nice live rock from TBS, and was advised by that company to do a water change when nitrite or ammonia reading exceeded 1ppm, so as not to endanger the life on the rock and the various crabs, snails, serpent star and peppermint shrimp.
My question is this - All I am trying to do is cure currently uncured Fiji live rock in a rubbermaid container. If I do not do a water change when nitrite or ammonia exceeds 1ppm, am I endangering the worms, pods and other microlife inside the rock? Should I do partial water changes or not as I cure the Fiji live rock?
