The stems I planted seem to be growing several new leaves at the tips and fine roots are hanging toward the substrate.
Some of these roots are 3/4" or so above the substrate. Should I push them down and plant them or leave them alone?
Yes!!!
Leopardess ships gooooooood stock. I'm very pleased with the cleanliness and color (and growth) of my newly planted batch.
Patience is definitely a necessity when dealing with this plant. That and planting them deeply. My cats, even the Pygmy Corys love to tip-toe through them .
A story about my glosso. A bit off thread but you just reminded me of it! I love the look of it so i bought some and put it in. Next morning got up and all the leaves had been chewed off the stalks by my silver dollars! Anyway i pulled it out as it was dead and the next week doing a water change i noticed a little string of green leaves poking out of the sand alongside some slate about 4 inches away from where i originally planted the glosso. I was made up that it had clearly been growing well in my tank and siphoned away some of the sand revealing my beautiful green glosso runner. Anyway then i went to go and get some plastic mesh to put over the glosso to protect it from my SDs whilst it established itself and sure enough 5 mins later came back to find the silver dollars playing with floating bits of glosso leaves. They had eat it all, they must've been watchin me! How annoyed was I!
