Ok Im running a 65gal with (2) 175watt 20k's and (2) 40watt 50/50's and about 3inch LS bed, and 85lbs of fiji LR...

Why is my sand getting bubbles and my LR is gerring coated on it with em too...

I just started to drip Kalwasser, did this do it?

First thing that comes to mind is algae. Diatoms and cyanobacteria will produce bubbles that get trapped in the algae sheet.

This often happens in new tanks. How long has yours been running?

Here's a recent thread about one such bloom:http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28856

I'm not sure how adding kalk would cause an increase in bubbles, but tank chemistry is not always straightforward.

thanks mogurnda,

Well tank is 9month old...

What I did recently to see if heat factor was a problem, I unplugged the Halides and just ran the 50/50's and no more bubbles...

halides are about 5 inches off water...
So does that mean that I need a new canopy...
canopy dimensions are 48x17x7

The halides are also putting out light, feeding photosynthesis. I'm sticking with the algae hypothesis for the moment.

More gas will come out of solution at higher temperature, but not that much.
