I am getting sick of this deseise. My medecine (Jungle "ich clear" tablets) seems to be killing more fish than the actual ich. I want to clear out the tank, sterilize it and start over. Now I have two questions.

1: Can common plecos tolerate room temperature water? (I have seen them in coldwater aquariums)

2: What is the best way to kill ich on inanimate surfaces?

I have only had ich once time, and used some type of medecine to get rid of it to no avail.

I upped the temperature to ~87', added 6 tablespoons of salt (29 gallon tank), draped a big beach towel over the tank (don't remember why, or where I read it, but did it anyways, taking it off once a day to feed and let the fish get some light so they don't think they're vampires). 20% water changes every other day. Ich was gone and hasn't come back in 3 years *knock wood* .

ps, if you are going to start over, I would think that oxyclean and hot water would kill ich... don't know for sure. But dont' forget, you'd have to start totally over and re-cycle your tank again...
