i have one blue convict with alot of black stripes and a medium sized brown one with very few stripes.

which one is female and which one is the male?

thanks,
mike (a.k.a. Mudvayne)

Females are usually more colorful. One of the clearest signs is a yellow-orange spot that develops on the underside of females when ready to breed. While males generally do have larger fins I've had a number of females that developed fairly prominent dorsal extensions.
