from what I understand, yes because chloramine is a concentrated version of chlorine (at least from what I gather). I'd use chlorine remover for your tapwater to be safe. kyle
I don't know at what concentration chloramine is lethal, but you certainly don't want your fish being exposed to any levels of it.
Chloramine is chlorine bound to ammonia (the ammonia makes the chlorine more stable and less prone to offgassing or dissipating, improving the chlorine's ability to kill nasties in tap water). When you use a simple dechlorinator (e.g., the sodium thiosulfate that's in most products) you get chlorine - which is neutralized by the sodium thiosulfate -- and ammonia, which is not neutralized. In my water with chloramine, I get about 1 ppm ammonia in tap water that has been treated with sodium thiosulfate.
Using products like Amquel, Prime, and AmmoLock2 will not only dechlorinate the water, but will also treat the ammonia so it is rendered harmless.
