Last night the Perculas new eggs hatched.

This time I think we will have more luck. Our rotifer cultures are going strong now. We have 3 large containers full of the rotifers, it just looks like a snow globe. Under the microscope the rotifers look good, they are fat and full of algea.

The babies, I'd say we have 4 times as many as we did this time. We easily have 1000 babies this time around, maybe more. Last time we figured we had about 200 to 300 or so.

Hopefully this time it'll work out.

Well Guy,
You have inspired me to do this once again. It has been over 20 years now since I have bread damsels and clowns but thought I would see if I could do it again. I have a pair of 3" toms and 8 2-2.5" A. ocillaris that I will be working on pairing up. These are wild caught clowns so it is going to be a little tougher to do but at least they will be fresh strains. What size are your percs?

There is going to be a little bit of an experiment with this using natural sea water on one pair to see if it makes any kind of difference.

Congrats BTW

Thanks Dale and good luck. If you want any help I'll happily share any knowledge I've picked up over the last few months.

As for the size, the False Percs are about 3.5 and 2.5 inches (female and male).

The maroons we have, the female is a good 4 to 5 inches, and the male is about 2 inches.

Good luck, it is really rewarding when you see hundreds of baby fish hatch. I assume it's even better as they grow.

So how are they coming along? Sorry, I don't mean to bug you but, I'm really curious.

Geez, go away for a weekend, and good stuff happens! How are they doing?

So far so good. The loses have been minimal this time around, up to this point. Perhaps 3 or 4 fish per day have had to be sucked up off the bottom, but thats Par for the course.

If they make it through the critical metamophosis period we'll have it made.

Not trying to be a pill Guy but how are your kids? ;) Don't mean to bug you but, I just think this is one of the coolist things ever.
