Well....I finally bought some fish for my 75 gal.

I got two ocellaris clowns, which seem to be the best of friends, and I got a coral beauty angel. The angel hides most of the time so far, but it has only been in the tank for about 2 days now, so I am not worried, and I am sure that it will become more friendly eventually. I am feeding the fish the frozen Formula One and Formula two, which they seem to like so far. Any suggestions on other foods I should be feeding?

I did a water test this morning, after I noticed that my new Remora Pro was starting to pull some nasty gunk out of the tank.

Ammonia: 0.13 ppm...possibly due to me overfeeding a little bit, or possibly due to the new bio load...
Nitrite: undetectable
Nitrate: 20 - 25ish....I will be doing a good size water change (20 or 30 gallon) this week, as my new RO/DI unit is getting here Wednesday.
pH: 8.1...can't seem to get it over that...any suggestions?

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me get to this point.

Sad News....

Well, I no longer have to worry why the Coral Beauty was hiding so much. I just got a call from my sister and she said that my hermit crabs are having a feast on it's remains :(

Unforetunately, the LFS said that they offer no warranty on SW fish, so I guess I am out of luck. This stinks. I hope that my two clowns are going to be ok, seeing as they came from the same tank at the LFS as the Coral Beauty did. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about the pH, 8.1 is fine.
If it is unsteady, then you can become concerned.

I'm sorry about the fish. If it died within a few days, it seems likely to be something that happened before it hit your tank. I hope the others stay healthy.

Has the ammonia gone back down?
