anybody have any suggestions for a nice compatible cichlid that we could add to our 25g w/ 2 dwarf gouramis and 2 ottos?

Maybe rams, if your tank has been up a while...I'm not sure about their compatability with gourami, and it seems it can be hard to find healthy ones in some places. Since you have asian fish (I think that's where ottos and gourami are from) maybe you could find something else asian to fill the tank out...I just like keeping fish from a certain area (I guess asia is a pretty big area) together.

Thanks, the tank has been up for 7-8 months now and yes I was considering rams but I'm thinking something more like:
Temporalis or Kribs or Keyhole Cichlids or probably most of all Blue-Eye Cichlid... that's if I can find them anywhere, but if I do, does anybody know if they would be compatible with 2 dwarf gouramis?

anybody at all? I believe that 1 or 2 Blue-eye cichlids (spilurum) would work out fine in a 25g but although they are said to be peaceful I'm not sure if they'll get along with the 2 dwarf Gouramis. Thought I'd ask the experts. Little help?

You really don't have a lot of choices if you want to keep a pair of cichlids in a community tank of that size. I think it's either dwarfs or the small acara type.

I've never kept the blue eyes, but they sound a lot like the keyholes. If you do decide to go with that size I would suggest getting them young. You might have trouble finding a pair though.
I just think they would be much friendlier if brought up around other fish early on.

My Yellow Labidochromis Caeruleus got along fine with my Dwarf Gouramis (put together while all were young), but I don't know how he'd do with Otos. I've never owned any.
