Can anyone provide me with information about the above fish, particularly its scientific name. The fish is about 2cm in length and has red, yellow and black lines along the side. It used to be very popular in the 1950s but I can't find any mention of it on the web.

Maybe you could go to a library and find a book on aquarium keeping and/or fish that was printed in the 50s or 60s and find the scientific name for it there. Then just do a search for that on the internet or whatever and maybe you'll find something.
Edit - A search on Yahoo turned up this webpage. ( Link ) It has the fish your listed for under species profiles, but no link for info on the fish.
