This'll sound stupid, but I'm a broke college kid (but I'll see what I can do as far as cash is concerned) and those tanks on aquabid are laughably overpriced. Looking for another betta home for my dorm, so if any of you find any good deals or have a tank or tank set up langushing out of use, please let me know. I want to use it to save one of the petstore bettas from those horrid plastic cups (it's a joy to see the first one I saved perk up and swim around), so it'll go to a good use!

Thanks in advance.

do you not have any pet stores around you? 5 gals are $10 around here

Here (Minnesota), Wal*mart has 10 gal for a little less than $10. Not the best fish store, but good for inexpensive tanks! Our good fish store sells them for a little over $10 and Petco costs little more, like $11.

Of course, these are the prices for tanks only.

Some smaller tanks get more expensive (only because they look more stylized,) but there are plenty of plastic ones to be found that cost less than $10.

I need a 2 -5 setup, the more included gear the better. Wal-mart had a 10 gallon setup for 27 but that's much bigger than I can handle right now. You're right, the smaller tanks end up being quite dolled up and cost about the same.

It's a stop gap solution - I'm short on cash and won't be getting any paychecks til the end of August (and even then I'm unsurse of my cash situation).
